FORECAST

RECORD HIGH TODAY?

The scorching temperatures we experienced over the weekend will continue into today and tomorrow. Highs are expected to reach between 102°F and 103°F. If we hit 103°F today, it will tie the record high for this date that was previously set in 2013. Fortunately, lower humidity levels in the afternoon will help keep the heat index manageable.

FIRE CONCERNS

While we haven’t discussed the risk of grassfires much lately, the recent dry conditions are starting to raise concerns. Areas east of I-35, in particular, are seeing an increased threat. San Antonio is currently at a “high” fire threat, whereas North Texas is facing an “extreme” fire threat today.

RAIN CHANCES

As the heat high shifts westward by midweek, this subtle change may allow for some energy to move from north to south. Isolated showers and possibly a storm or two could develop on Thursday afternoon, which might also help to lower high temperatures slightly.

Futurecast for Thursday (8/27/26) shows isolated showers and storms developing.
