SAN ANTONIO – Recently, a second suspect was arrested in connection with a tragic shooting that occurred outside an East Side after-hours bar earlier this year. The arrest affidavit revealed crucial details about the incident.

The accused, Santos Alvarez, 22, is now facing charges of capital murder related to the shooting death of Jon Kross Perez-Levaeh, aged 26. Records indicate that Alvarez’s bond has been set at a hefty $500,000.

Incident Overview

The shooting took place in the early hours of February 8, in the 1600 block of Rigsby Avenue, outside an after-hours bar near Elgin Avenue. When police arrived, they found Perez-Levaeh suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Through the bar’s security footage, investigators discovered that multiple individuals were involved in this violent incident. It was captured on video that five suspects arrived at the bar around 4:30 a.m. that morning.

Witnesses reported that these suspects initially approached Perez-Levaeh and his friends and behaved in a friendly manner. However, as Perez-Levaeh and his group were leaving, the situation escalated, and an assault ensued where Perez-Levaeh was shot multiple times.

In the aftermath, witnesses noted that a necklace belonging to Perez-Levaeh was missing, further indicating a possible robbery motive. Importantly, they also stated that Perez-Levaeh had not been involved in any prior disturbance before the shooting.

One of the other suspects, identified as Angel Puente, 20, has also been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with this tragic event.

Conclusion

This incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers associated with nightlife and the importance of community vigilance. As investigations continue, it is crucial for the community to work together to prevent such violence in the future.
