SAN ANTONIO – A man in his 40s was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after he was shot while riding a bike on the Southwest Side, according to San Antonio police.
Officers responded to the shooting around 11:45 a.m. in the 5400 block of Godek Drive, located east of Old Pearsall Road. This area is known for its quiet neighborhoods but was shaken by this unexpected incident.

Upon arrival, SAPD said the officers found a man with a gunshot wound in his lower leg. Emergency responders quickly provided treatment to the man before taking him to a local hospital. Thankfully, his injuries were labeled as non-life-threatening, which is a relief for his family and friends.
As the investigation unfolded, officers learned that the man was riding his bike just a block away when a gray SUV drove past him. He heard a gunshot and soon realized he had been shot. Despite the shock of the incident, he managed to reach Godek Drive, where a homeowner promptly called 911 for help.
