SAN ANTONIO – In a tragic development, the San Antonio Police Department has confirmed that remains discovered at a South Side park last month belong to a 7-month-old girl named Ozana Cisneros. This case had previously garnered significant attention as Ozana was the subject of an AMBER Alert.

According to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office, the identification of Ozana’s remains has been officially confirmed. As investigations continue, the cause and manner of her death are still under scrutiny.

The circumstances surrounding Ozana’s disappearance began on July 9, when the Texas Department of Public Safety issued an AMBER Alert. Initially, the alert indicated that her mother, 19-year-old Maximina Cisneros, was wanted in connection with the abduction.

Just a day after the AMBER Alert was issued, authorities located Maximina Cisneros near the 200 block of Parkview Drive. Despite this, the search for her daughter continued, prompting the AMBER Alert to remain active.

Shortly thereafter, investigators uncovered skeletal remains near Concepción Park, approximately half a mile from where Maximina was found. At that time, SAPD had not yet confirmed whether the remains were linked to the AMBER Alert case.

Although the AMBER Alert was officially discontinued on July 13, law enforcement officials noted that Ozana Cisneros remained classified as actively missing.

As the investigation progresses, the San Antonio Police Department has stated that they are diligently working to uncover the details surrounding this heartbreaking case. Community members and advocates for child safety continue to emphasize the need for vigilance and support in situations involving missing children.
