FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS

FORECAST

TRIPLE DIGITS

Are we ready for some sizzling heat? The forecast indicates that temperatures might hit 99 or even 100 degrees today, marking only the second time this year that we could reach those triple digits. Compared to previous years, we’re currently faring much better in terms of heat statistics, with fewer extreme days.

SMOKE FROM WHERE?!

Despite the sunny skies, the air will have a bit of haze due to wildfire smoke drifting all the way from Oregon and Washington. Luckily, this smoke is at a light concentration and is high up in the atmosphere, so air quality should remain good for outdoor activities.

FAST-MOVING RIVERS

Rivers continue to flow swiftly in the wake of heavy rain over the last month

Recent rainfall has caused rivers like the Frio and Nueces to flow swiftly. Although the rain totals weren’t massive, they contributed to already fast-moving currents. It’s important to stay cautious around these waterways, as some of the highest flow rates in a long time are being observed.

SEA BREEZE SHOWERS

The heat high responsible for our warm weather is slightly off to the west, which means we will experience hot temperatures, but not as extreme as if the high were directly overhead. While the high pressure system may keep most rain away, there’s still a chance for some sea breeze showers to pop up from the Gulf from Friday through Sunday.
