TAMPA, Fla. – In a shocking turn of events, Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has been arrested in connection with a kidnapping and robbery incident that took place in Florida. The allegations have raised serious concerns about the player’s involvement in criminal activities as he now faces multiple felony charges, according to officials’ statements released on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old Arnold is described by the Tampa police department as the “primary conspirator” in an incident where three young men were allegedly held at gunpoint, assaulted, and robbed in February. The police report indicates that some of the victims’ personal belongings were stolen during this violent encounter.

Arnold faces four counts related to weapon charges and an additional four counts associated with kidnapping, harming, or terrorizing individuals, as per the records from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Before Arnold’s arrest, Tampa police had apprehended six other individuals believed to be involved in the armed robbery. Of those, two have already pleaded guilty, while the remaining four are being held without bond, according to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office.
Denise White, the CEO of EAG Sports Management, which represents Arnold, has publicly stated that he denies any involvement in the alleged crimes. She emphasized, “There is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations. Instead, the government appears to be relying on testimony from multiple convicted felons who have admitted their own involvement and may have substantial incentives to shift blame in an effort to lessen their sentences.”
This incident follows a troubling event in early February when Arnold and friends reported the theft of property valued at over $250,000 from an Airbnb in Largo. Initially believing that two teenagers were responsible, police later found this assumption to be incorrect. Hours after reporting the theft, Arnold is alleged to have orchestrated the kidnapping and robbery of the individuals he suspected.
According to the State Attorney’s Office, Arnold and his associates managed to lure the suspects to an apartment on February 4, where they were held at gunpoint and physically assaulted. Arnold reportedly joined the attack and was present during the theft of the victims’ belongings.
The victims promptly reported the violent robbery to law enforcement, prompting an investigation. State Attorney Suzy Lopez remarked, “No one has the right to take the law into their own hands. A dispute over missing property does not justify kidnapping, violence, or retaliation.”
Arnold, who was a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after a successful collegiate career at the University of Alabama, is now facing the potential of life in prison for the felony charges brought against him. The Detroit Lions organization has acknowledged the situation but refrained from making further comments at this time.
After turning himself in to authorities on Wednesday, Arnold is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County court for the first time on Thursday afternoon, as the legal process unfolds.
