FORECAST
TODAY
Starting off, you might notice a few spotty showers in your area. Check out the LIVE RADAR video at the top of this page for real-time updates on the weather.
As we move into Sunday, expect a hot and humid day ahead, with about a 40% chance of downpours in the afternoon. Much like yesterday, the heat will be palpable, and we’ll likely see some thundershowers pop up before sunset.
MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY
Heads up! A significant amount of moisture from the Gulf is moving in as a cool front approaches from the north. This combination will lead to storms with heavy rainfall, especially on Monday evening and throughout Tuesday, with chances ranging from 60% to 80%.
Although these storms are unlikely to produce hail, they will bring torrential downpours. We anticipate most areas will receive between 1 to 3 inches of rain, but some localized areas could see over 6 inches. The highest likelihood for these heavy totals will be near San Antonio and south of Highway 90 towards Laredo.
Street flooding is a major concern, particularly at low water crossings, which could make travel dangerous. Additionally, we need to watch for potential river flooding, especially south of San Antonio. Keep an eye on the Frio, Nueces, and Atascosa Rivers, as they may rise rapidly, impacting Choke Canyon and Lake Corpus Christi.
By Wednesday morning, most of the rain should have moved out, giving us a brief respite.
THE REST OF THE WEEK
As we look ahead to Thursday, expect very hot conditions to return. A brief chance of rain may pop up again by Friday, followed by another hot and humid weekend.
