SAN ANTONIO – Almost four months have passed since a tragic shooting claimed the life of 26-year-old Jon Kross Perez-Levaeh outside an after-hours club in San Antonio. His mother, Heavyn Sanchez, is transforming her overwhelming grief into a passionate quest for justice.

Jon was shot on February 8 near Rigsby Avenue, and as of now, the police have not made any arrests in connection with his death. This silence adds to the pain felt by his loved ones, who are desperate for answers.

To honor his memory and seek justice, Sanchez has created a moving roadside memorial close to where her son lost his life. She hopes that someone, perhaps a passerby, might recognize Jon’s story and feel compelled to share any information they might have.

“I want people to know what happened here,” Sanchez expressed. “We’re still seeking to get justice.” Her determination goes beyond just her son’s case; she’s also holding the property owners accountable for the incident that took place on their premises.

Finding the strength to keep fighting for her son and other victims of gun violence is no easy feat. Sanchez credits her faith, saying, “The man upstairs is giving me faith.” This unwavering belief is now propelling her to organize a march next month, aimed at honoring all victims of gun violence throughout San Antonio.

“My son’s story is now becoming a legacy,” Sanchez stated with resolve. “We’re gonna continue it.” She hopes this march will not only honor those who have lost their lives but also raise awareness about the impact of gun violence in our communities.

If anyone has information about the circumstances surrounding Jon Perez-Levaeh’s tragic death, they are encouraged to reach out to CRIME STOPPERS at 210-224-STOP (210-224-7867). Every piece of information could help bring justice to Jon’s family and potentially save others from similar heartbreak.
