SAN ANTONIO – Recently, there was a tragic incident on the South Side of San Antonio that has left many questions unanswered. On a Friday afternoon, police responded to a call about a possible shooting at a home on Prairie Hill Street.
When officers arrived at around 1:30 p.m., they discovered a man in his 30s who had been shot. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident has raised concerns in the community, prompting an investigation by the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD).
The day after the incident, the buyer of the property where the victim was found reported to the police that he had encountered the victim the day before. The victim had asked the buyer for work, and the buyer agreed to pay him in exchange for help cleaning the property. Additionally, the victim volunteered to take care of the property while the buyer was away.
The Buyer’s Discovery
On the day of the tragedy, the buyer returned to the property with two friends to continue the cleaning. Upon entering, the buyer found the victim lying on the floor, with blood present. Alarmed, the buyer immediately contacted the homeowner and then called the police.
Witnesses in the vicinity mentioned hearing about a fight between the victim and a neighbor, though police could not find concrete evidence to confirm this. Interestingly, as officers were investigating, a neighbor came forward and claimed to have fought with the victim. This neighbor had visible injuries on his face, leading police to detain him for questioning.
After questioning the neighbor, investigators decided there wasn’t enough evidence to arrest him. As of now, no suspects are in custody, and the investigation by the San Antonio Police Department is ongoing.
This tragic event serves as a reminder of the importance of community safety and the need for effective communication among residents. As details continue to emerge, the SAPD urges anyone with information to come forward to help bring clarity to this situation.
