SAN ANTONIO – Recently, a troubling incident occurred at IDEA Harvey E. Najim, an East Side campus in San Antonio. A former employee of IDEA Public Schools, Jacob Benjamin Jackson, was arrested for allegedly sending explicit photographs of himself to a 15-year-old student.

On April 29, police were called to the school after an adult discovered that Jackson was in communication with a student. Officers responded to a report of a “disturbance” at around 1 p.m., leading them to the campus located in the 900 block of W.W. White Road.

Upon arrival, police approached Jackson and took him into custody. The school confirmed that he was employed there but stated he is no longer with the organization.

Evidence gathered by the San Antonio Police Department included text messages that Jackson allegedly sent to the student, which contained explicit images. According to reports, Jackson admitted to these actions when confronted by the police.

Following his arrest, Jackson was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on April 30 and was later released on a $30,000 bond the next day. The investigation into this serious matter is still ongoing.

This incident raises important discussions about safety and appropriate boundaries in schools. If you or someone you know finds themselves in a similar situation, it’s crucial to speak up and report it to a trusted adult or authority. Everyone deserves to feel safe at school.
