SAN ANTONIO – Recently, San Antonio police have arrested two individuals in connection with a murder investigation that has shocked the community. The victim, Daniel Antonio Ordonez, 54, was tragically found in a trash bag on the city’s West Side, raising serious concerns about family dynamics and safety in the neighborhood.

On Tuesday, Alyssa Herrera, 36, was taken into custody, charged with tampering with physical evidence. Her husband, Daniel Sebastian Ordonez, 31, was arrested the previous week and is facing the same charge. This disturbing case has left many in the area reeling, as it involves a father and son.

The investigation began when a family member, concerned about Daniel Antonio Ordonez’s well-being, requested a welfare check after losing contact with him. Reports indicated that he had a heated argument with his son, which prompted worry among relatives.

When police arrived, they found Daniel’s phone hidden in a potted plant and his keys scattered around his home. This led officers to search another residence where the two suspects lived. Inside a backyard shed, they discovered the victim’s body, along with signs suggesting a violent struggle had taken place.

The arrest affidavit revealed that Daniel Antonio Ordonez had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head, and authorities have ruled his death a homicide. Neighbors described the situation as “ugly” and “shameful,” expressing disbelief that such a tragedy could occur within a family.

Celia Sosa, who lives across the street from the suspects, remarked on the unsettling nature of the crime, stating she was unaware of the murder until she learned of it through news reports. Another neighbor, Justin Covarrubias, expressed confusion over why family conflicts would escalate to such dangerous levels.

This murder investigation is not the only troubling incident in the area. On the same street, animal control officers recently seized nearly a dozen dogs from a nearby property where they were found living in unsanitary conditions. Although these cases are unrelated, they have raised alarm among residents, prompting discussions about safety and community welfare.

As the police continue their investigation into the murder of Daniel Antonio Ordonez, the community remains shaken, grappling with the reality of family violence and its tragic consequences. People are left wondering what could lead to such a horrifying outcome within a family unit.

Local authorities have assured the public that they are doing everything possible to uncover the truth and provide justice for the victim. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of communication and conflict resolution within families to prevent such tragedies.
