Wembanyama’s standout performance included a remarkable 34 points and 12 rebounds, showcasing his impact on both ends of the court. His winning shot capped a thrilling final-minute comeback, securing the Spurs a top-six finish in the competitive Western Conference.
De’Aaron Fox also contributed significantly, adding 23 points to the scoreboard, while Julian Champagnie chipped in 14 points. This win represents the Spurs’ fourth consecutive victory, solidifying their place in the playoff race.
On the opposing side, the Suns were led by Collin Gillespie, who scored 24 points, and Devin Booker, who added 22. Despite their efforts, the Suns remain in seventh place in the Western Conference.
As the game progressed, Fox’s finger-roll layup brought San Antonio within one point, cutting Phoenix’s lead to 100-99 with just under 30 seconds remaining. The tension escalated when Suns coach Jordan Ott had to call a timeout, as Fox and Dylan Harper effectively trapped Booker near the sideline. Following the timeout, San Antonio fouled Rasheer Fleming, who unfortunately missed both free throws, leaving the door open for the Spurs.
